Your attention is respectfully invited to the following ruling of the Bureau in the matter of rent due owner of restored property. If the rent has been paid into the Bureau, and taken up, and property accounted for, it cannot be refunded, but must be obtained only through the Court of Claims. If not paid in but be still due the owner or owners can obtain it from date of amnesty oath- or of executive pardon. The Asst. Commissioner would further say that he is prepared to aid you in any proper way in recovering rents due you- which may or may not have been already accounted for.
