Commissioner, I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of two communications dated May 25th enclosing 21 applications for waived bounties The following have been forwarded to Washington. viz: Thomas Allen, Robert Hughes, Alexander Forman, Frank Smith, Albert James and Hayward Bushel.- The following are returned enclosed-viz: Richard Freeman, a man of this name belonging to the 1st U.S.C.C. appears on our lists as being mustered in Nov. 22nd- The applicants dischare papers gives date of his enrollment as Dec. 15th- There may be a mistake 255 in dates- Please give the amount of bounty he received on muster into service.- Andrew Wilkes- The only man on our list of this name appears as belonging to the 2nd U.S.C.C.- The applicant is evidently the man from whom the bounty was retained, as the date of enlistment is correct.- His Captain would be able to tell if the man was transferred to the Battery- several men were transferred to the Battery from other regiments.- Custis Erage- Please make out application in right name. Willam Allen, Peter Wilkes, Arthur Reed, Smith Collins, John Smith, Joshua Pitts, Isaac Fidget, Nathan Driggers, Tadock Carpenter, Isaac Roberts, Elias Fidget, and Isaac Stevens.
