I am directed to the Asst. Commissioner to call upon you for a full and accurate descriptions report of all property in your district included in the provisions of Sec. 12, of the late Bureau Act. -
The report will be forwarded without delay, in order that the necessary steps may be taken for the disposal of such property according to law. -

In consequence of the order working the removal of the 2nd Battalion, 12th U.S. Infantry from this Department, I respectfully request that the detail asked in letter of the 18th instead be not made, as the orders on duty at these Head Quarters belong to the 2nd Battalion, 12th U.S. Inftry.

In marking your next report of rations issued to Freedmen, you will please obtain from Col. Crory, the value of rations, issued to Freedmen in Govt. Employ- if appears the rations are not issued to this case by the Com. Sect. at this post.
How is it that the rations issued to the Old Ladies Home Taylor Farm, Hospital Taylor Farm, Smallpox Hospital at

Norfolk and Portsmouth, are issued by one C.S. and the rations to Taylor Farm, Norfolk City and Wise Farm by another C.S.?
The three latter items are all that have been issued by the C.S. at this post, and consequently he is unable to check off the items or give the value of the rations issued to the "Old Ladies Home" &c-

Lieutenant,
I am directed by the Asst. Commissioner to acknowledge the receipt of your communication of July 24th 1866. and to direct that you Communicate with the persons against whom judgments have been granted by the Freedmen's Courts, in favor of Freedmen, for services rendered, and request the payments of the same- If they refuse to settle; you will seize upon enough of their personal property (the same to be sold at public auction) to satisfy these judgments.-
If unable to carry out these instructions yourself, you will call upon the officer in command of troops, nearest your Station, for the necessary troops to assist you.
