R E S O L U T I O N No. 39-55

WHEREAS, experience has shown that the relocation program is one of the most beneficial programs ever undertaken by the Indian Bureau in its long history of dealing with Indian Affairs, for it has provided need opportunities for Indian families to work and live as other Americans in non-segregated communities and learn to exercise and enjoy rights and responsibilities which have made the United States of America a great nation, unsurpassed in achievements in democracy and in economic development, and 

WHEREAS, the relocation program also helps relieve economic tensions on the reservation; therefore be it

RESOLVED that the San Carlos Council appreciates the excellent job that the Indian Bureau has done with the relocation program; and be it further

RESOLVED that the Bureau of Indian Affairs is requested to expand its relocation program and to ask Congress for more funds to cover such expansion; and be it further

RESOLVED that the delegates to the annual convention of the National Congress of American Indians are hereby instructed to present a copy of resolution at the sai dconvention.

CERTIFICATION

I, the undersigned, Acting Secretary of the Council hereby certify that the Council of the San Carlos Apache Tribe is composed of 11 members, of whom 8 constituting a quorum, were present at a Special meeting thereof on this 23rd day of August, 1955, and that the foregoing Resolution 39-55
