Dear Tommie:

I only just returned to New York the other day and as my office had been closed completely during the month of August and not having had word from you, I had no idea what had happened regarding the pictures which we loaned you for the Venetian Exhibition.

I learned on my return, of course, that they had all been returned in good condition, and was sorry that the Museum did not see its way clear to acquire one of these paintings. Was it just an impossibility financially, and, at the same time, did you acquire something else?

Not much news at the moment as I am back too short a time. The summer was very pleasant and very quiet, and we are both extremely healthy. Do let me hear from you.

With best wishes,

As always-

Yours,

(Robert M. Levy)
