Dear Tommy:

It was good to hear from you again after such a long silence.

I have diligently tried my best to obtain the Philip Lehman Goya for your exhibition and have been in touch with Bobby Lehman, his son, about it. My first doubts regarding the loan were justly confirmed yesterday by a letter received from Robert Lehman, a copy of which I am enclosing herewith. Therefore, I am terribly sorry but I am afraid that nothing can be done about this matter.

I suppose that you and Dr. Heil are fully posted on other available Goyas in this country.

Is there no chance of your coming east? As for myself going to the coast again, it is doubtful, and I have hope that this summer might find me in Europe.

Keep in touch with me and give my best love to Francesca.

As ever-- with best wishes,
Yours,

(Robert M. Levy)
