CALIFORNIA PALACE OF THE LEGION OF HONOR
Lincoln Park
San Francisco, California

OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR April 2, 1937

Mr. Germain Séligmann,
Jacques Séligmann & Co., Inc.,
S East 51st Street,
New York, N.Y.

Dear Mr. Séligmann:

Thank you for your letter of March 18th.

The information given you concerning Ms. Spreckels' whereabouts was incorrect, as her brother told me a few days ago that she is now in Europe and that the date of her return is uncertain. While I should, of course, be glad to talk to her about the Renoir upon her return to San Francisco, I feel that it would be better for you to discuss this matter with her. I shall be glad to keep you posted if I hear anything of her plans, so that you can get in touch with her when she returns to New York. I think it is quite probable that she would again stop at the Sherry-Netherland and undoubtedly the hotel could let you know if she is expected. I am sorry not to be able to give you more specific information about Mrs. Spreckels' itinerary but her plans are always subject to sudden change.

With kindest regards to you and René, I am
Very sincerely yours,
Walter Heil
