CALIFORNIA PALACE OF THE LEGION OF HONOR

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA
TELEPHONE SKYLINE 3124

April 8, 1936.

Dear Bob:

I am still waiting for replies from the Crockers and from Miss Levy. It has also occurred to me that you might like to have list of the paintings owned by Mr. and Mrs. Michael Stien, who have recently come from Paris to California and have settled permanently in Palo Alto.

Concerning paintings owned by Mrs. William A. Clark, I have information concerning only two - the van Gogh "Rose Laurel" and "The Bridge of Trinquentaille: Arles". You will find complete information concerning these in your catalogue of our exhibition of French Painting of 1934, a copy of which I think you have. This same catalogue also lists paintings in California, notable the collections of Mr. and Mrs. Walter C Arensberg of Hollywood, Mr. W. H. Crocker, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Salinger of Piedmont, Mrs. A. B. Spreckels, and Mr. and Mrs. Preston Harrison of Los Angeles. I shall check over these carefully to make sure that nothing is omitted.

For Further information concerning Mrs. Clark's pictures. I think you could communicate with her at her New York address, 907 Fifth Avenue. We have been corresponding with her within the last few days and while a number of her pictures are in Santa Barbara, all information about them will be in the hands of her secretary in New York. Her Name is Miss Adele Marie and you may reach her at Mrs. Clark's New York address.

Very sincerely yours,
Tom Howe Jr.
