My dear Walter:

We have just been asked to return to Europe the two Van Gogh drawings which we have loaned to the Van Gogh show.

Though we had promised Mr. Barr, a year ago, to lend them to the various shows, including the one in San Francisco, I am wondering if you would have any serious objection to letting us have them.

We would very much like to be able to send them back to Europe if you can do without them. Will you please let me have your answer at your earliest convenience?

With my kindest regards,
Please believe me
Very sincerely yours,

(René Seligmann)
