Dear Germain:

The Museum has recently been given a Spanish still life painting that would appear, judging from the reproduction in the Herron exhibition catalog El Greco to Goya, to be very close to the Pereda that you lent to that exhibition, if not actually by the same painter.

I wonder if I might prevail upon you to give or send me an 8 x 10 photographic print of your Pereda for purposes of comparison. I wish I could offer to send you a photograph of our picture, assuming that this might be of some interest to you, but it has not yet been photographed.

I try very hard not to bother dealers with this kind of business that is so peripheral to their own concerns, but believe me, I shall be most grateful for your helpfulness in this unusual instance.

With very kind regards. As ever.

Faithfully,
Bob
