Mr. Germain Seligman,
Jacques Seligmann & Co. Inc.,
5 East 57th Street,
New York 22, N.Y.

Dear Mr. Seligman:

Apparently there is no possibility of having a meeting of the European Purchase Committee before I leave (the Elections intervened) - but I have no doubt from the reactions of the chairman of the committee, Mr. Withrow and Walter Vitzthum (who is one of its members) that we will acquire the Vernet drawing. I trust, therefore, that you will not mind leaving it with us for the next two months. In the meantime you could send a bill for the Galeotti and the Doré to our Secretary-Treasurer, Mr. A.K. Kembar. We are all very much pleased with them.

I am off to Europe to-morrow, rather dreading the weather I may find there.

Cordially,
Jean S. Boggs
