and the truck was owned by Wm. Reid. I am shure he owned it. He bought it of an Irishman. do not know his name. He is living here now. I mean the truck. The mare of Jacob Willie. I saw the money paid for the truck. I was with Reid when he bought the mare and heard him say he had one  hundred & forty dollars and I saw the receipt for 140 dollar but did not see the money paid. Ed. Long had nothing to do with this horse & truck or in the purchase of the same.
Wm. Reid sold this mare to Robert Jordan about three or four months ago for twenty five dollars cash. He owed him twenty-five dollars and he paid Reid fifty in cash.
We always settled with Long every week and paid him up every week.
