Chandler immediately commences a suit against the said Orrick, which case is still pending.

An other case where a colored woman complained that her Husband was in jail for cutting Wheat which she affirmed her Husband was not guilty off – as he was at home all night (the night on which it was alledged that the Wheat was cut)  Capt Chandler investigated the matter and was satisfied that he was guilty, as he acknowledged that he cut the Wheat.

On the other hand it is alledged that Capt Chandler is very unpopular and is an injury to the cause for which he was placed on duty at that place; to assist in supporting.

Col Franklin says that he considers him a very unpopular officer.

Capt McDonnald says that Capt Chandler is too officious - too prescribing - and not calculated to please or gain satisfaction with those with whom he may be called to transact business connected with the Bureau.
