July 26, 1867

Respectfully returned to Lieut P.R. Hambrick, A S A Comr. Before the receipt here of this application the within named Lucy Mines, learning of the decease of her daughter went to Alexandria, finding means for that purpose. As she appeared well dressed on starting, and was able to raise the necessary amt to meet the expenses of the journey, it is probable that there is some mistake with reference to her child having died 60 days previous for want of sustenance. The woman could not have been very old as it seems she had a small child.
