My Dear Sir,
I find from the list of papers in my case that for some reason or other some of the more important in relation to it have not been sent. Most probably they were mislaid by Gen. Butler, into whose hands they originally went, and who voluntarily offered his services to assist me in securing my rights.
Among the missing are my own statement of account, with accompanying arguments, also argument of Gen. Butler, and proofs (affidavits of parties themselves) of the furnishing of wood, list of indigent freemen on the farm from May 1865 to Aug 22nd 1866, furnished Gen. Howard
