Registration in this County five to one in favor of freedmen

United States Senate Chamber
Roseland [[strikeout]] Washington [[/strikeout]] July 11 1867

My Dear Sir
Should it be necessary for me to be in Washington in reference to the settlement of my Claim vs. the F. Bureau, I will go hither immediately on being summoned.
By the way, is not wood furnished the Freedmen a good Claim against the Bureau? I will send evidence tomorrow that nearly the whole of the wood on my land was used by the Freedmen.
Yours Truly
Jos. Segar
