   I have the honor to enclose for your information a copy of my appointment as Captain in the 44th U.S. Infantry and also a copy of the Certificate of the President of the Board of Examination informing me that I had passed a satisfactory examination.
   In compliance with instructions contained in my appointment, I have the honor to report that I have returned for duty in the Freedmens Bureau.
