is caused by the exertions of a man by the name of Massey who during the Rebellion was an officer and Quartermaster in the Confederate Service and does all in his power to render it a success, and now that the colored man has the election franchise placed in his hands; the said Massey thinks that he can do them a great service (and is laboring for the same) by being placed by their votes in the Convention to form a Constitution, and in Congress to make laws for their future government.

   I consider him a dangerous man to be trusted with their interests, and a man totally unfit to represent said County as one of the board of Registration thereof.

Mr Goodyear the Agent in charge is rapidly gaining the good will and confidence of the Colored people, and rendering them great assistance.
