the contrary many of the White Citizens attend the meetings and their deportment has generally been commendable.  One instance, in which there was an appearance of discern, was reported.  A meeting was called in Rappahannock County to be addressed by Mr Porter of Norfolk, and in discussing some points, the White Citizens took exception, and expressed their disaprobation in very decided terms.  Mr Porter invited them with much kindness to hear him through, and they should [[strikethrough]] should [[/strikethrough]] be herd in answer to his remarks.  Some of them accepted the invitation, and in his own language (Mr Porter) he "took the starch out of them so that they had not a word to say" and the meeting quietly disolved.
   
The Meeting at Culpepper [[Culpeper]] on Saturday addressed by Dr Harris was very quiet and orderly.  No disturbance of any kind occurred to mar the harmony and good feeling existing in
