Under these circumstances the undersigned as law-abiding and law loving citizens, who have more than a mere transient interest in the welfare of the community, desire that the real facts shall be stated to your Excellency - Peradventure some of their names may not be wholly unknown to you - At least in former days when our own public men were in Washington, it would have been an easy matter to have had the undersigned avouched for - Governor Pierpoint can still do so for a portion of them -
