Application of Discharged Colored Soldier for back Pay and Bounty

On this 14th day of May, 1867, personally appeared before me a Notary Public, in and for the County and State, aforesaid, Thos. Williams, of Norfolk, in the County of Norfolk, and State of Virginia, personally known to me, who being duly sworn according to law, declares that his age is   years, that he is a resident of Norfolk, County of Norfolk, State of Va. and that he is the identical Thomas Williams, who was enlisted as a January 16th 1865, in Company "C" of the 37th Regiment of U.S. Colored Infantry to serve for the period of three years and was discharged from the service of the United States, as a Private at _ on the _ day of _ 18.  by reason of _ 

Claims retained bounty in accordance with, Genl. Order, No. 90, Dept of Va, and North. Ca. Series 1864.
