Reports that he is informed by the Paymaster General, that 
Bvt. Maj. J.R. Stone, Capt. V.R.C. & 
Bvt. Maj. J.H. Remington, Capt. V.R.C.
whom he had requested to have retained as Civilian Agents on muster out, are to be retained in the service. Asks if this information is correct, since he has received no official notification of their retention.

They were reported as Disbursing Officers (assisting in the payment of bounties &c) Although no official information to that effect is on file, yet it is presumed they have been retained.
