Alex then turned ran around the corner of the house, and about 40 yards down the hill and fell, Chambers followed after, and when he came up with him, commenced tying him, thinking he was "playing off," as he expressed it, when Brooks came up, he said "it is no use he is dying," and by this time he was dead, they carried the body to the house and then reported to the Atty for the Commonwealth, came over and saw me, and also reported to a magistrate.  This is materially the statement of the two men at the inquest, and the examination before the magistrate.  The wife Rachel did not see the firing
