DEVOL - One of”Lilly”Martin’s earliest portraits of a member of the Devol family. On April 10, 1943 was owned by Mrs. George Gordon of Parkersburg,OHio.

DOG - Do not know title. It is companion piece to “HEAD OF FAMILY DOG” which were in oil, and in home of Mrs. Nellie Fay Young of Marietta, Ohio. Originally given to Catherine Fay Ewing by “Lili” Martin. Cathrine Ewing was founder of first children’s home in the U.S.A. which was supported by Public Funds.

Members of Art Union in Philadelphia tried to buy this painting privately. It was sold to an association in the west - probably the Western Art Union.
