subscription papers, thinking as you said a few words here and there you might get some names as well. It seems to be a movement which ought to interest all, for Alice Cary was essentially a national woman. Her influence persuaded the whole country, and her sweet, cheering, inspiring words have been read far and wide. If the idea can only be circulated I feel sure we will succeed, and what a beautiful sight it will be all the women of a country doing honor to one of their own number who rests in the city above, after a noble useful life. 
      
Have you heard of "Nantucket Sorosis?" If not I must tell the glad news of a young society formed this summer on the island of Nantucket under the auspices of Ms. Rebecca A. Morse, the able chairman of our Art Com. They have started bravely, forty members being enrolled at their first regular meeting; we feel that the name is a happy augury for delightful
