New York, January [circle]1868.[/circle]

Samuel P. Avery (late Agent for the American Art Department at the Paris Exposition), having returned from Europe, informs his Friends and the Art Public that he will shortly resume his business as an Art Agent. He has taken the commodious Gallery at No. 82 FIFTH AVENUE, corner of Fourteenth Street, where he will exhibit, and offer for private sale, the various works of art selected by him during his recent residence abroad. The importance of these selections will be made manifest by the list (on the next page) of some of the principal objects. Several of the most valuable were purchased out of the "Universal Exposition." Many others were bought at the Artists, Annual Exhibition, -The Salon of 1867,- while some were painted expressly on commission. Among them will be found choice examples of the artists whose works are favorites with our collectors, as well as productions by others who are now, for the first time, introduced here.

-----
THE GALLERY WILL BE OPENED FOR A
PRIVATE VIEW,
On Tuesday, February 4, from 9 A.M. until 10 P.M.,
To which yourself and Ladies are respectfully invited.

82 FIFTH AVENUE,
Cor. Fourteenth St.
