INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION,
1876.

BUREAUS OF ADMINISTRATION,
ART.

United States Centennial Commission.

Philadelphia, Dec ? 1st 1876.

Mrs. Lilly M. Spencer

My Dear Madam

By the close of this month everything in the Centennial Exhibition is obliged to be removed by the owners. The exhibits are disappearing rapidly and for the sake of safety I have caused your three large pictures to be removed from the Woman's Pavilion over to Memorial Hall, and they are now standing against the wall in what was the Russian Gallery. I inclose you the Circular and form of application in blank to fill up in case you should chose to have them in the new Exhibition in preference to taking them home. Today the new organization purchased the Main Building for $250.000 and will speedily perfect their arrangements for the new exhibition.

Yours truly
John Sartain
Chief of Art Bureau.
