Dear Madam
Your very kind note was duly received, and in answer, I beg leave to say, that I felt myself very highly complimented to have the good opinion of a lady occupying the posision that you do. For my long intercourse with the people of this country, I have found but few of yourself an indeed of my own self that entertain such [[??]] views of a republican form of government as you do. and a compliment from you therefore is the more flattering.

I hope this will not end our acquaintance but that when you visit our city again you will give us a call, and wherein
