since-James and Lulu are here with me and Anna is in Plainfield with her grandmother and attends school there-We are going to rent our house furnished and shall remain here with my mother-
I was very sorry to hear you were sick and if I had been in E-should have come over and intended to so just as soon as I returned but my own sickness prevented me. 
I suppose you are able to paint again by this time (I sincerely hope so) and have finished your large picture 
I shall be in New York one of these days and shall come to Newark and see about my small one -I want to take lessons of you again if I can manage it in any way but of course I could not do that at present. Next summer I shall invite you to come up here and I think you will like it, the scenery is very picturesque blue hills on every side, numerous brooks falling over rocks making beautiful waterfalls. 
The days are so short now I cannot get any time for painting as I have to assist in the housework-I am afraid when I take cup my brush again I shall find I have forgotten a great deal but I try to keep my eyes open when I am out riding. I wish I could remember all the beautiful effects I see-
