The Union League Club Madison ave & 26" St New York Dec. 20, 1877 Dear Mrs. Spencer, If I could have gotten at the Art Com. of this club a day sooner, your "Waiting for the Wave" would have been sent for to be exhibited tomorrow night at the Reception of the President. However, and in my opinion, all the better for you, it may be exhibited at the monthly meeting, which is the Annual meeting of the Club in January. I have mis-laid your address tho I can probably find my way to your residence. But I advise sending me your card.
