would bear the expense.

To do it. I am in a very pleasant family, as governess for his boys - I may go to Europe in the spring with them - The rest of our family are still at St. Cloud - we often talk about you all & wonder if you are pleasantly situated. I truly hope you are. We were sorry not to have been able to say goodbye to you, and hear more fully of your plans for the future. Beside telling me about the pictures, I hope you will tell me how you and son Charlie, and the others see passing the winter - Please give my kindest regards to them all and believe me I am your friend

Mr Gross
Dear Sir
I would like to have my pictures home for a particular purpose for which I must have them as soon as I can get them, but as I cannot afford the expense of sending for them nor will I till spring. when I sent for my pictures a year or so ago I had the money to pay the expenses of their coming, but you remember it was asked as favor that I would leave them which I willingly did where I sent my pictures to the centennial the first time & had gone to a great deal of expense in boxing them and my boxes were all there and should have been taken care of. I sent a second time I sent but was again requested to leave them as a favor which I again did as it absolutely necessary and
should have them as soon as possible, and am not able to pay the expense
I would like that the exhibition would be so kind as to affirm the expense. there two pictures
