Dear Mrs Spencer,

Your kind letter has been sent to me here.
I left New York July 12th and of course owing to my absence I could not answer the same.

Mr. Draper has no doubt gone in the country and he will surely answer Your letter as soon as he gets it. I have not been able to make You the promised visit, but will do so, on my return early in October. I am visiting the Art Galleries of Holland and Germany. It is always a great treat to admire the splendid pictures by the old masters.

I hope you are well, also Your sons.

Believe me, dear Mrs. Spencer,

Very truly Yours

W. Schaus
