pay one month's rent of the five that were due. There have been and are so many bills, and interest to pay, still this is a turn for the better, for the rent worried me more than anything, and I feel cheerfull and hopefull, for I know something will turn up.  I am so glad you are continuing in that electric business, for every body says it is going to be one of the best businesses of the future;  any how! Keep it untill something better turns up.  I would have written to you before, dear, but I was so upset with the N. Y confusion and so so tired! when I came home, and yet had to write so many letters to the people I had been with if I did not want to offend them, and spoil all I had gone to see them for.  Charley's worrying, because he has not written to you;  he is so

driven.  Lilly has had a terrible boil on her eye lid and when indeed before that got well, she has another as big a pigeon egg on her chin.  flora is well and cheerfull, and they are all going to write to you.  I have found a beautifull place to exhibit my pictures, independant of the accademy of design.  and I am going to try to finish my "Relics of the past" as I think I may get some one to help me to exhibit and sell it.  I feel a great deal better than I did, and I hope this will find you so too, with love from all, I remain
