Schools.  A school is maintained at Wytheville the only in the Division and is having good success.

Much effort has been made to procure the necessary means to erect a School house and an appropriation of (400) Four hundred dollars asked for and approved by the Asst. Comr., but owing to the disagreement of the two parties into which the Colored people are divided here (One adhearing to the M.E. Church the other to the African M.E. Church) neither additional funds nor a location has been secured and the Bureau appropriation remains uncalled for.

Efforts are still being made with some prospects of the dificulties being removed and arangements made to enter upon the work early.

2d. Division.  Lieut. F.J. Dunn, 11th. Infty U.S.A. A.S.A. Comr.  In this Division Capt. J.O. Oneill, was relieved by S.O. No. 123, dated Richmond Va. Nov 25th 1867, and by the same S.O. Lt. Dunn, was assigned in his stead.  Lt. Dunn took charge on the 4th. of Dec 1867.  The maner of keeping the records and the order in which they were turned over to Lt. Dunn, were not wholly satisfactory.  This was in part caused
