Dear Sir
I recd a letter a few days since from Capt. Mallery, inquiring about the regularity of the form of bond I sent you some time since. To meet emergencies, the officers in our rooms have authority to execute papers in the form which I sent you, but we are aware that the form is unusual.

At a regular meeting of our Executive Committee yesterday, I presented a new bond, and secured a special vote authorising its execution, which I think will meet the views of the Captain.

You will recollect our conversation concerning this matter. You said you would not make the appropriation Ten thousand dollars: I therefore make this new one, for $7.500. the amount of the appropriation. I trust you will find is all right. If not please tell me.
