Dear General,

Can you give me any information relative to the result of our former application for funds, in aid of our work near Hampton.

I do not wish to be unduly importunate, but the school year is wasting away, scholars are waiting for instruction and the time for making arrangements to furnish the pupils with industrial employment that will both reduce their expenses, and educate them in departments valuable to them and the country in the future is at hand.

Yours truly
Geo. Whipple,

Transcription Notes:
importunate: persistent, especially to the point of annoyance or intrusion.
