Sir - I have the honor to transmit herewith, Lease in triplicate, for the rent of Room for School purposes, near Floyd Court House Va. for your approval. The educational interests of the Freed-people in Floyd County have been greatly neglected, and therefore their claim is the stronger upon us, to assist them.  We have secured the services of a colored man who can read and write to teach them, until we can do better.  Your Officer in charge will furnish them with the necessary books.  We have also secured a Lot on which to build a School & Meeting House in the town of Jacksonville - and expect to build upon it within a few months.
