Division No 3 comprising the Counties of Montgomery. Pulaski. Giles. Floyd. Roanoke
and Craig is in charge of C. S. Schaeffer A.S.A.C. who is a faithful and efficient officer and, discharges his duties very satisfactorily.

His extensive acquaintance with the friends and friends of Freedmen in Philadelphia enables him to procure aid for schools and
Books, and medicines, and other necessaries for gratuitous distribution quite largely. His disinterested zeal in laboring for the interests of the Freedmen is commendable. A marriage register is kept as by Cir No. 11 S. 1866.

The able Freedmen are all employed and are getting comfortable livings. The subject of Temperance is receiving a proper share of the time and attention of the Agents in all the Divisions and is doing much good. At Wytheville in the 1st Division and
