Personally appeared before me this 17th day of April 1868- Joseph P Power- and made oath on the Holy Evangelly of Almighty God- that a few Months since while acting as special agent of the Bureau RF&AL he received of S.C Armstrong Agt at Fort Monroe- a number of discharges for Colored men in this [[?]] - with request to [[strikethrough]] distribute [[/strikethrough]] or deliver to them to the parties to whom they belonged - That in the bundle of discharge papers was one for one Robert Poole- Late Seargt Co A 10th USCT- He further swears that when he delivered the discharge to said Poole- he (Poole) complained and said he wanted his Bounty money - and upon his being asked by Power how much money he had received - he (Poole) answered- "I did not get any money"- the witness further swears that he asked  Poole the same question two perhaps three times and received the same answer given under my hand & seal this 17th day April 1868
