I have the honor to report, pursuant to Circular No. 5, Series of 1867, and Letter of Instructions No. 3, 1866 that I have, during the quarter ending this day, visited each county of this sub district and inspected the offices of the several Asst. Sub. Asst. Com.s

The condition of the offices is fair.  Lieut. Sherwood's records have never been well kept but the appointment of Lieut. Reed to his position will insure a great temperament in that office.  Capt. Rice is not accurate in his manner of making up office records,
