as it is occupied for school and church purposes.  There will probably be more than 150 pupils in attendance, there being over that number within two miles, who are of a suitable age.  Mr Morris has written to his sister who is highly educated to learn if she will consent to take charge of the school, I am hopeful that she will.  If not, an earnest effort must be made to secure a good teacher for this place, as it will be, I trust, a very flourishing and useful school.

Charles Morris has proved himself a true friend of the colored people since the close of the war.  He frequently counsels with them, and will, I have no doubt, always be glad to keep you advised with reference to this interest   His P.O. Address is "Montpelier".

The following have been chosen as the Trustees, viz:  Stephen Anderson, John Roman, and Richard Harris, all colored.  The address of the first named who can read and write is also "Montpelier P.O."
