Your petitioner William H Curtis, administrator of George Massenburg dec'd would respectfully represent, that the said George Massenburg departed this life, in the year 1862; that your petitioner was appointed administrator of the estate of the said George Massenburg by the court of the county of Elizabeth City on the 24th day of March AD 1866.

That the said George Massenburg at the time of his death, was possessed of and held the following lot located in the town of Hampton - [[?]] one on King street, bounded by the lots of Charles Bliven and Elizabeth Latimer- One on Queen Street, bounded by the Creek, and the lot of R.G. Banks; This lot was sold under a deed of trust, and conveyed to LH Gorline by deed bearing data June 1. 1866- and one other lot on The Back street, and bounded by the lot of Parker West, and --- Lowry. 

That no proceedings have ever been instituted against any of the above mentioned and described property in any court of The United States, 

That your petitioner has taken and subscribed The Oath of Amnesty as prescribed in the President Proclamation, of May 29th 1865- and that he is not embraced within any of the excepted classes of said proclamation: neither would the said George Massenburg be embraced within any of said excepted classes, were he living - he was in
