place among indigent freedmen who cannot provide Medical aid for themselves. I have directed him to report to me whether he can do this duty - and that his report shall bear the endorsement of Capt. Massey. This report will soon come to hand, and when I receive it I will give you a further report. In my letter to Dr. Carey, I directed him to make some arrangement if possible, to make the benefits of the Dispensary at Yorktown, which has at all times been open to proper cases at Williamsburg, more readily and promptly accessable for meeting their wants.
