I trust you will not think me troublesome but when we are open to abuse and scandal without a chance of defending ourselves it is really. hard The Journal accuses me of being a bummer Now General I would challenge anyone to come forward and say I have ever been seen around or the inside of a Drinking house and have [[Strikethrough]] been [[/Strikethrough]] always been a Businessman and an energetic one striving to make an honorable living, and no doubt this affair will reach the ears of the General Commanding and might deter him from granting the appointment and I really must solicit General your interest in giving me an appoint
