on behalf of Robert F. Rice at the [[strikethrough]] [illegible] [[/strikethrough]] Prosecution of the Commonwealth came into court and severally acknowledged themselves the said JG Lumpkin TW Talley and JD Poindexter to be indebted to the Commonwealth of Virginia in the sum of Fifty Dollars each of their respective goods and chattles lands and tenements to the Commonwealth rendered.  Yet upon this condition that if the said JG Lumpkin T.W.  Talley and JD Poindexter  shall personally appear here on Thursday next [[strikethrough]] next [[/strikethrough]] at Ten O'clock to give evidence on behalf of Robert F  Rice at the  Prosecution of the Commonwealth and do not depart there without the leave of the Court there this recognizance to be void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.  

Thomas B Dunn Billy W Talley Ezekiel S Talley R H Hooper and James E Buiford having been summoned to attend this Court as witnesses for Robert F Rice at the Prosecution of the Commonwealth were solemnly called but came not.  Wherefore on motion of said Robert F. Rice [[strikethrough]] and attendant [[/strikethrough]] it is ordered that an attachment be awarded against the said Thomas B Dunn Billy W Talley Ezekiel S. Talley R H Hooper and James E Buiford for their said Contempt returnable on thursday next at ten o'clock.

At a Court of like Session Continued and held for the said County at the Court House on the 4th of December 1868.
