Liberty Bedford Co. Va. August 14th 1868 Capt J.F. Wilcox A.S.A. Comr Capt: I have the honor to enclose herewith an estimate of funds required for purchasing materials for repairs for Freedmen's schoolhouse in this place. The school for freedmen numbers 170 pupils and is in a flourishing condition. The repairs referred to are eminently necessary for the comfort and convenience of said school. The house is quite open, and having been finished, therefore making it uncomfortable during the winter months. Hoping that an appropriation will be granted by the Bureau of R.F. and A. Lands I am Capt Very Respectfully Your Obt. Serv't F.R. Forrest Supt F.S. Bedford Co Va
