In view of his probable departure from Lexington, requests that the Mil. Com'r. at that place, be instructed to give his attention and supervision to the case of Caesar Griffen, Freedboy, now on bail, for trial before the Sept. term Co. Court, on a charge of "shooting with intent to kill' one Brokenborough, a white man.

Respectfully returned to the Assistant Commissioner Bureau Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands, District of Virginia. As it is understood that a successor will be appointed to Mr. Frazar, it is not considered necessary to give special instructions to the Military Commissioner in this case, it being the duty of the Assistant Sub-Assistant Commissioner to attend to the matter.
