General,

Mrs. Ednah D. Cheney, Secretary of the Teachers' Committee of the N. E. Branch T. U. Comm has stated to our society your proposal made to her while in Richmond a few weeks ago, that we should obtain permanent possession of the "Bakery" buildings for school purposes.

Our society is not incorporated, and does not own any real estate. there is some difference of opinion here whether it is desirable for us to become owners of school buildings. If practicable we think it better that real estate for school purposes should be held by Trustees living in the neighborhood. Many of the school houses now used by us are so held. Can we not secure the use of the "Bakery" for a normal school for the next five years in any other way than by becoming the owners of it?
