Respectfully returned to Col. James Johnsen S.A.C. with The following information. The Land of the farm referred to within is mostly bottom land and of good quality, lying on the Maraponi River, in an unhealthy locality, and, but for this fact would be cheap ath $20 00/100 per. acre. There is plenty of good water upon it, but the houses are nearly worthless and only contain one room each. The grown the timber is very light. The owner I am informed by reliable, and there is no reason for considering him friendly to the colored people. There are judgements to the amount of $1585 23/100 given in favor of twelve different persons, already docketed here, and the owner being a resident of Henries County it my be that others have been rendered against him that County, or in the City of Richmond which if so, are liens on this property for 12 months from their rendition.
