   I thank you for giving me the opportunity of dropping a line to you since, during our interview, I could, not say all I would like to have said.  I trust however that my views were expressed in a  manner sufficiently explicit for you to understand how the teachers here regard the matter under consideration: but there is much relative to Mr Hickman himself and Mr. George of which it would be well for you to be informed before making a final decision with regard to the disposition of Government property in this place.  They are very persistent in their determination to get these barricks [[barracks]] into their possession, notwithstanding your manly open dealing with them the other day.  I can not tell what give them so much hope of success unless they rely upon Mr. Manly who I am con
